Thomas More to Host Men's Basketball for Connor Classic

COLUMBIA, Ky. – For the second weekend in a row, the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball will travel away from home for a two-day non-conference stint. This time around, the Blue Raiders stop in Crestview Hills, Kentucky for the Connor Classic, hosted by Thomas More University.

Lindsey Wilson is fresh off a 95-68 victory over Welch (Tenn.) on Tuesday evening, snapping a four-game losing skid. Junior Connor Robinson doused the Flames with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting. It was his first double-digit scoring effort since dropping 21 points in the Blue Raiders' season-opening win against Carolina (S.C.). He also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds.

Another junior, Lucas Ribeiro, averages 9.3 points per game over his last three outings, including an 11-point-13-rebound double-double versus Welch.

The Blue Raiders' leading scorer on offense continues to be Kenyata Carbon. The true freshman has posted double-figures in all but one game this season and has knocked down six or more free throws in four games, including an active stretch of 14 consecutive makes.

Both of Lindsey Wilson's wins this season have come when the team has shot over 50 percent from the floor and over 40 percent from three-point range. In fact, the Blue Raiders currently hold the Mid-South Conference's top three-point field goal percentage of 37.3 percent and the number one free throw percentage at 75.2 percent.

Each of the opponents Lindsey Wilson will see this weekend in Crestview Hills is brand new to the program. Kent State Tuscarawas (Ohio) and Cincinnati-Clermont are members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's (USCAA) Division II.

The Golden Eagles are off to a 3-0 start after recently knocking off Ohio Christian in come-from-behind fashion. They rank inside the top 10 in average free throws made and attempted and shoot 45.5 percent on field goals, but only 23.2 percent from three-point territory. The duo of Kameron and Kyle Shockley pace Kent State Tuscarawas with 20.7 and 17.7 points per game, respectively.

As for the Cougars, Cincinnati-Clermont are winners of three of its last four games. The team boasts the highest field goal percentage in USCAA Division II and scores the fourth-most points. David Froedge and Dalton Kramer are each turning in over 15 points a game to lead the Cougars on offense, while Jackson Gregory's 10.2 rebounds per game sit 12th among league leaders.

Lindsey Wilson and Kent State Tuscarawas get the weekend started at 4:30 p.m. CST on Friday. Then, at 12 p.m. CST on Saturday, the Blue Raiders challenge Cincinnati-Clermont.

Both games are slated to be played inside Thomas More's Connor Convocation Center.
