Women's Soccer to Open Home Campaign on Wednesday Night

COLUMBIA, Ky. - As the college soccer season gains momentum, an electrifying clash is on the horizon as Lindsey Wilson College's Blue Raiders prepare to face off against Shawnee State University's Bears. After a challenging start to their respective campaigns, both teams are set to face off in what promises to be a thrilling encounter on August 30th at 7 p.m. CST.

In their season opener, Lindsey Wilson College suffered a setback, falling 4-0 to Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Blue Raiders faced a tough challenge, failing to have a single shot on goal. However, they're determined to put that performance behind them as they step onto their home turf for their season's second match. The Blue Raiders' goalkeeper, Gabby Duerson, made an impressive eight saves in the previous match, showcasing her resilience even in the face of adversity.

In their most recent encounter, the Blue Raiders emerged victorious, securing a 2-0 win. Current captain Silvia Marchesi and former Blue Raider midfielder Alicia Thoresen were the day's heroes, netting crucial goals in their previous victory over the Bears.

On the other side, Shawnee State University's Bears are searching for their first taste of victory this season. Their initial matches have resulted in losses, with a 3-1 defeat against the University of Northwestern Ohio and a 6-2 loss against Campbellsville.
