Traveling on the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway, it would difficult, if not impossible to ignore Lindsey Wilson College's newest athletics complex.
Parnell Family Stadium is home for Lindsey Wilson football and track & field. The entrance to the stadium -- along with the baseball and softball fields also located at the athletics complex -- is off Highway 80.
With a capacity in excess of 2,000 fans, the stadium offers 157 chairback seats and four sections of general admission seating on the home (fieldhouse) side. Additional seating is located on the visitor's side of the field.
Parnell Family Stadium also houses an eight-lane, 400-meter track for the Lindsey Wilson track & field program. Also included at the venue is a pad for high jumps and pole vault, a long jump pit, steeplechase and shot put pit and areas for the javelin, discus and hammer throw.
Construction of the stadium was completed in August of 2010, while the team has practiced on the field turf surface since the spring of 2009. Originally named Blue Raider Stadium, it was renamed Parnell Family Stadium in September of 2021.
Heading into the 2023 season, the football team has posted a 62-17 all-time record at Parnell Family Stadium. The track and field program has also hosted a number of regular-season events at the stadium along with the 2015 and 2018 Men and Women's Mid-South Conference Outdoor Championships.
High above the playing surfaces, the fieldhouse contains a pair of hospitality suites, a press box, a pair of coaching boxes and home and visiting radio rooms. Above the pressbox is a film deck large enough to house each team's film crew and TV cameras for television stations or live Internet streaming.
A ticket booth is located on the front-left side of the stadium entrance, as well as a concession stand directly behind the ticket area once inside the gates.
The home and away locker rooms are located on the far ends of the stadium. The home locker room includes individual handmade wooden lockers, an athletic training room, equipment room and projection screen area for team meetings and film breakdown.
With its picturesque setting and fan-friendly environment, Parnell Family Stadium is one of the finest in the NAIA.
