Jesse Chavez begins his second season as the head athletic trainer in 2023 after serving seven seasons at Lindsey Wilson as an assistant athletic trainer.

Chavez provides coverage for the Blue Raider Volleyball, Wrestling, Baseball, and Men's and Women's Archery programs. 

Prior to joining the staff at Lindsey Wilson, Chavez worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Oklahoma City University.

He provided coverage for soccer, basketball, wrestling, softball, baseball, and cheer and stunt teams, including traveling with programs to regular-season contests and postseason championship events.

Chavez is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Associaton, Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers' Association, Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association, New Mexico Athletic Trainers' Association, Oklahoma Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Association, and USA Wrestling, Baseball, Volleyball, and Archery.

He is certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers, the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, the American Red Cross-Mid Rio Grande Chapter, and Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Chavez graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2012 and later completed his master's degree from Oklahoma City University in 2015.
