Archery Finishes Runner-Up at MSC 3D Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -  The Lindsey Wilson archery team finished runner-up at the Mid-South Conference 3D Archery Championships on Saturday at Cumberlands.

The Blue Raiders tallied 132 points and posted 16 podium finishes. Lindsey Wilson had four gold medals, five silver medals, and seven bronze medals.

Individually, Gus Burtts earned gold while T Sanchez, Morgan Wilson, and Jacob Cook earned silver medals. Austin Taylor and Zach Jackson earned bronze medals for the Blue Raiders.

The trio of Sanchez, Jackson, and Christian Blair won gold in the men's recurve team. They earned the top-seed and defeated Kentucky Christian 157-124 to advance to the final. In the finals, they defeated Cumberlands 186-159.

Gus Burtts, Wyatt Burtts, and Thomas Ramsey won gold in men's fixed pins team. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Campbellsville 173-118 and Bethel 184-149 in the semifinals. The trio earned gold with a 186-172 victory over Cumberlands.

Austin Taylor, Bo Pipes, and Bronson Ormes finished runner-up in men's compound team. The trio defeated Union 182-180 to advance to the finals. In the finals, they lost to Cumberlands 177-170 to earn silver.

The trio of Audrey Mills, Madeline McGuire and Madalynn Puryear earned silver in women's fixed pins. They defeated Campbellsville 162-128 in the quarterfinals and Pikeville 176-160 in the semifinals. In the finals, they fell 171-91 to Cumberlands.

Ryli Valliere, Layla Blevins, and Carlee Drury earned bronze in women's recurve team. After dropping their first match to Pikeville 180-152, the trio then defeated Kentucky Christian 150-87.

Cook, Sean Neal, and LaQuann Williams earned bronze in men's barebow team. They lost to Cumberlands 160-101 before picking up a 129-124 victory over Campbellsville in the third-place match.

Wilson, Britney McCarthy, and Anastacia Godman picked up a third-place finish in women's barebow team. The trio dropped their first match to Cumberlands 152-150 and then defeated Kentucky Christian 158-143.

In the mixed team rounds, the Blue Raiders earned three podium finishes. Taylor and Poston took gold in mixed compound. The duo defeated Midway 116-61 in the quarterfinals and Union 132-126 in the semifinals. Taylor and Poston won gold with a 123-120 victory over Pikeville.

Gus Burtts and Mills captured Bronze in the mixed pins. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Bethel 108-85. The duo then fell to Pikeville in the semifinals before defeating Union 108-106 in the third-place match.

Sanchez and Valliere lost to Pikeville 118-112 in the semifinals. The duo then defeated Bethel 119-69 to earn bronze in mixed recurve.
