Archery Finishes Third at 3D Nationals

FOLEY, Ala. – The Lindsey Wilson archery team posted a third-place finish at the USA Archery 3D Collegiate Nationals Saturday.

The Blue Raiders totaled 109 points and posted 10 podium finishes and two national titles. T Sanchez captured gold in the men's recurve division. Sanchez recorded a score of 464 to finish in first.

Parker Braddock, Kenneth Parsley and Austin Taylor won gold in men's compound team. The trio defeated Texas A&M 90-82 in the quarterfinals. They then picked up a 98-88 victory over Lindenwood in the semifinals. Braddock, Parsley and Taylor then defeated Cumberland 98-95 to win gold.

Sanchez, Zach Jackson and Christian Blair finished runner-up in men's recurve team. After earning a bye into the semifinals, they defeated Cumberlands 94-80. The trio fell to Texas A&M in the finals 96-90.

The Blue Raiders posted a runner-up finish in men's barebow team. In the quarterfinals, Jacob Cook, Sean Neal and LaQuann Williams defeated Campbellsville 65-61. The trio punched their ticket to the finals with a 66-64 victory in the semifinals. Lindsey Wilson then fell to Cumberlands 74-62 in the finals.

Britney McCarthy, Anastacia Godman and Sarah McCarthy teamed up in women's barebow. They defeated Texas A&M 68-54 in the quarterfinals and picked up a victory against Cumberlands in the semifinals. The trio was defeated by Pikeville 76-46 in the finals.

Wyatt Burtts, Lyle Uhrich and TJ Ramsey earned a silver medal in men's fixed pins. They defeated Montevallo 98-89 in the quarterfinals and Pikeville 100-98 in the semifinals. The trio then took on Cumberlands in the finals where they fell 96-94.

The Blue Raiders posted three podium finishes in the mixed rounds. Sanchez and Ryli Valliere finished third in mixed recurve, Cook and Britney McCarthy took third in mixed barebow and Burtts and Sophia Hunziger took third in mixed fixed pins.

The championship wrapped up with the mixed equipment team rounds. Hunziger, Taylor and Sanchez teamed up and posted a runner-up finish. They defeated Muskingum 119-95 and then defeated Carson Newman 122-102 in the quarterfinals. The trio picked up a 120-101 victory over William Carey before falling to Cumberlands in the finals.

Cumberlands captured the national championship with 226 points while Pikeville finished second with 133 points.
