Baseball Defeated by the Grenadiers

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team fell to Indiana Southeast 19-8 at Koetter Sports Baseball Complex on Wednesday.

The Grenadiers struck early and often while the Blue Raiders scored all eight of its runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

The Blue Raiders quickly fell behind 13-0, as the Grenadiers strung together hits and capitalized on Lindsey Wilson errors.

The Blue Raiders finally responded with three runs in the fourth inning. Austin Rayno started the scoring with a two-run single to score Michael Sizemore and Henry Paulino. Gabe Board followed that up with an RBI-single to score Cody Fallon.

In the fifth inning, the Blue Raiders scored five runs, as Jaden Cockerel hit a two-run single, Matthew Schultz hit an RBI-single, and Chance Stayton hit an RBI-double.

Paulino finished the day with a team-leading three hits on four at-bats. Stayton, Cockerel, and Board also had multi-hit days.

Both teams finished with 13 hits and the Blue Raiders had five errors while the Grenadiers compiled three. 12 of the 19 runs scored by IU-Southeast were unearned.

Lindsey Wilson quickly returns to action on Thursday as the Blue Raiders host the Tigers of Campbellsville. The Battle of Highway 55 will start with a doubleheader on Thursday at 1 p.m. CT and conclude with one game on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
