Men’s Basketball Places Four to Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete List
COLUMBIA, Ky. – Four student-athlete members of the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team have been named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2023 season, national officials announced on Thursday morning.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution.
Payton Cundiff, Johrdon Mumford, Lucas Ribeiro, and Connor Robinson all garnered the honor.
With this year's selection, Cundiff becomes the first four-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete recipient in program history, while Ribeiro collects his second-career scholar accolade. Mumford and Robinson each earn their first.
Freed-Hardeman University (Tenn.) led the Mid-South Conference with six honorees, followed by Lindsey Wilson and Bethel University (Tenn.) with four apiece.
