RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball wrapped up the Bevo Francis Classic on Saturday falling to host Rio Grande 84-55.
Kenyata Carbon led the Blue Raiders (1-4) with 17 points while going 4-of-8 from the field and connecting on all eight of his attempts from the charity stripe. Rodney Lewis and Lucas Ribeiro were also in double figures with 11 points apiece.
Rio Grande opened the game scoring the first 10 points. Lewis got Lindsey Wilson on the board with a layup with 17:37 remaining in the first half. The RedStorm continued to build on their lead with a 9-2 run. Trailing 22-8, the Blue Raiders scored the next seven points to make it 22-15 with 10:17 left in the half. Rio Grande then went on a 14-3 run to lead 36-18. Lindsey Wilson went into the half trailing 44-30.
The Blue Raiders were outscored by the RedStorm 40-25 in the final 20 minutes. Lindsey Wilson shot 33.3 percent from the field in the second half. Lewis scored nine points in the second half while connecting on 5-of-6 attempts from the free-throw line.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday when they host Welch at Biggers Sports Center.
