Men’s Basketball Shoots Season-High From the Field in 96-80 victory over Toccoa Falls

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team defeated Toccoa Falls 96-80 Tuesday at Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders (4-5) shot a season-high 58.7 percent from the field going 37-of-63. Kenyata Carbon scored a career-high 31 points on 13-of-14 shooting. This was the fourth game this season Carbon has scored 20 or more points. Barrett Burchyett matched a career-high with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting while connecting on four of his six shots from beyond the arc. Lucas Ribieiro recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Lindsey Wilson opened the game scoring seven of the first nine points. Following a Toccoa Falls (4-6) three, the Blue Raiders pushed their lead to 13-5 with a 6-0 run. The Blue Raiders led 21-11 before the Screaming Eagles went on an 8-0 run to make 21-19 with 11:21 to play in the half. Lindsey Wilson responded with an 8-2 run pushing its lead to 29-21 with under nine minutes to play.  Toccoa Falls answered scoring 11 of the next 13 points to take a 32-31 advantage. Lindsey Wilson responded going on a 7-2 run to lead 38-34 with three minutes to play in the half. The two teams exchanged points for the remainder of the half as the Blue Raiders led 45-39.

The Blue Raiders came out of the locker room and began the second half on a 10-3 run to increase their lead to 55-42. Toccoa Falls trimmed the deficit to singles digits with a 6-0 run. The Screaming Eagles again cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to single digits at 69-60 with 11:27 to play after a 7-3 run. The Blue Raiders outscored the Screaming Eagles 27-20 for the rest of the half as they got the 96-80 victory.

Lindsey Wilson return to action on Friday when they face Harris-Stowe State on day one of the Campbellsville Thanksgiving Classic. Tipoff from the Powell Athletic Center is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT
