Campbellsville to Host Men's Basketball for Thanksgiving Classic

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team will continue its holiday tradition this weekend when the Blue Raiders travel up Highway 55 for the Campbellsville Thanksgiving Classic.

Beginning on Friday afternoon, Lindsey Wilson faces a two-day, two-game set featuring Harris-Stowe State (Mo.) and Simmons College of Kentucky.

The latter of the two Blue Raider opponents are products of the NCCAA Division II and have dropped four consecutive games by an average of 27.5 points per game. Most recently, the Falcons were downed by Indiana Southeast, 79-58.

Sophomore Franklin Sampson played only two minutes against the Grenadiers but continues to pace Simmons on offense with 9.5 points per outing. As a team, the Falcons rank fourth in the NCCAA for free throw percentage at .774.

Harris-Stowe State is coming off a 95-67 rout of Crowley's Ridge (Ark.) on Tuesday, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Seth Chargois, a junior, leads six Hornets posting a double-digit scoring average with 16.5 points per game.

As for Lindsey Wilson, the Blue Raiders have won three of their last four games, including a season-best shooting performance against Toccoa Falls (Ga.) on Tuesday.

Over the last three outings, Lindsey Wilson is outshooting its opponents 52.7 to 42.6 percent and is pulling down 15 more rebounds per game.

Freshman Kenyata Carbon has gone off for at least 20 points in each game during that same span. Against Toccoa Falls, he finished 13-for-14 from the floor for 31 points.

Teammates Connor Robinson and Matt Khoury are contributing 11.7 and 11.3 points over the last three contests, respectively, while Lucas Ribeiro is corralling 9.3 rebounds a game.

Lindsey Wilson has won four-straight in the Campbellsville Thanksgiving Classic and looks to extend that streak at 3 p.m. CST on Friday versus Harris-Stowe. The Blue Raiders will then challenge Simmons at 1 p.m. CST on Saturday.

Both games are slated to take place inside Campbellsville's Powell Athletic Complex and will be streamed live on the Tigers' YouTube Channel.
