Men's Golf Off to a Good Start; Lead Phoenix Invite after Day One

Mt. JULIET, Tenn. – The Blue Raider men's golf team appears to be picking up where it left off after last season, carding a tournament-best 544 through two rounds of the Phoenix Invitational at Pine Creek Golf Course in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
Lindsey Wilson dominated the field on par fours, scoring 11 strokes better than the next closest team while also sinking the most birdies.
Individually, three Blue Raiders are situated inside the top 10, including freshman Milan Reed, whose matching round scores of 65 have the Englishman in a two-way tie for first place.
Linus Doverfors rebounded nicely from his 70 in the first round to shoot a 64 in the second round and catapult 12 spots from 15th to third place.
Also among the top 10 is Rafe Blankenship (67-71), the only Blue Raider so far to record an eagle.
Rio Saigal (71-71) and Frederick Stand (77-71) round out the five golfers competing for Lindsey Wilson in 21st and 44th place, respectively.
Charlie Jones (73-69), who is working through the par-72 course as an individual, is also in 21st position with Saigal.
The Blue Raiders resume play on Tuesday morning in Mt. Juliet.
