Men's Soccer to Visit First of Indiana Foes on Wednesday

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 5 ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team travels to Westfield, Indiana for a top-five battle against No. 1 Bethel (Ind.) Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT.  Everything points out that it will be an exciting match against the 2022 NAIA National Champions. 

The Blue Raiders (4-1-0) are in good spirits from their most recent victory, as it was nothing short of breathtaking. Lindsey Wilson, playing with ten men from the 30th minute of the first half, carried a 1-1 tie deep into the closing stages of the second half. In the 89th minute, Sebastian Tregarthen managed to score the late winner, with an assist by Samuel Odame, to keep the Blue Raiders perfect on their home pitch.

Tregarthen, with six goals, is the Mid-South Conference's top scorer and averages more than a goal per match. Meanwhile, midfielder Felix Poschmann leads the conference in assists with five.

The Pilots (5-0-1) will try to keep their undefeated streak for this game. Their last game ended in a 4-1 win against (RV) Indiana Tech with goals from Andres Lucumi, Miguel Martins, Luan Bressy, and Julian Vargas. Forward Piero Sabroso is their top scorer with five goals. 

Both teams' most recent encounter was in September 2022 with Bethel picking up a 3-2 victory in Columbia.
