COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team fell to Indiana Tech 2-1 in the second round of the NAIA Tournament at Walter S. Reuling Stadium/Ray Wells Field Saturday.
Rastko Dekic scored the lone goal for the Blue Raiders. The two teams each recorded 12 shots with Indiana Tech having a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.
The loss ends the Blue Raiders' season at 12-4-3 overall while capturing the Mid-South Conference regular season title and reaching the final of the conference tournament.
Lindsey Wilson had a chance in the 16th minute. A volley into the box took a deflection and found Alvaro Verwey who had a good look but unfortunately hit the crossbar with the shot. The Warriors struck first in the 38th minute. Appiah Kubi found the back of the net with Ryan Steele picking up the assist.
Dekic got Lindsey Wilson on the board in the 66th minute. Jaland Larmond took a corner kick that found a running Dekic who headed into the net to tie the game at 1-1. Kupi scored the go-ahead goal for the Warriors in the 83rd minute. Andreas Michael's shot was blocked and Kupi was there for the rebound to give Indiana Tech the lead. In the final minutes, Larmond had a shot go wide and Sebastian Tregarthen's had a shot saved with 52 second left.
