Women's Basketball Hosts Berea and Johnson (Tenn.) to Complete Three-Game Homestand

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team has two more home games this week at Biggers Sports Center. On Thursday, the Blue Raiders will be facing Berea College at 6 p.m. CST, followed by Johnson (Tenn.) on Saturday at 2 p.m. CST.
The Blue Raiders have had a strong start to their season, currently sitting with a record of 6-2. In their most recent matchup, Lindsey Wilson shut down Fisk with a score of 96-74. Amelia Hodges is currently leading the team in points for the season, averaging 12.3 per game. Lucy Patterson leads in rebounds with an average of 7.3, Hodges leads in assists with 3.8, and Jarie Thomas leads in blocks, with a 1.1 average per game.
Following suit with a strong beginning to the season is Berea College, with a record of 4-0 so far. The Bears most recently defeated Sewanee on Monday with a score of 74-63. Currently leading the Bears in points is Atiya Moss, who has 56 points so far this season. LynKaylah James is the team leader in rebounds with 44 this season, averaging 11 per game. Drea Satori leads with 19 assists and James leads with 10 blocks on the season. The last meeting between Berea and Lindsey Wilson was on November 7, 2022, where the Blue Raiders won 85-61.
The Blue Raiders' final matchup of the week, Johnson University is currently on a four game winning streak, and has an overall record of 6-3 on the season. Point leader for the Royals this season has been Hannah Jones, with an average of 16.2 points per game. Gabby Beaty is the leader in rebounds this season with an average of 7.8 per game. Leading in assists is Jordan Heifner, averaging 4.6 per game, and Jones leads in blocks with an average of 1.3 per game. The Blue Raiders and the Royals have met previously this season in Tennessee, with Lindsey Wilson bringing home the win in a game that ended in a score of 81-75.
