Women's Golf Closes Spring Opener with Fourth Place Finish

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Lindsey Wilson women's golf team concluded play in the Showdown at Legends on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue Raiders fell out of the tie for second that they held after the first day and finished the tournament at Legends Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in fourth place.

The locals closed out their three rounds of competition on the par-72 course with a final score of 957 (316-316-325), finishing eight strokes behind Taylor University (Ind.) in third place.

Megan Mann locked up a top-three placement with the third-lowest score of the tournament at 230 (79-77-74). The senior also finished with the field's lowest score on par threes at two-under par. All told, Mann carded eight birdies.

Katie Biddlecombe and Hannah Sumner placed seventh and ninth, respectively, with scores of 234 (78-74-82) and 238 (75-81-82). The duo each recorded six birdies on the week, while Biddlecombe held a slight edge in shots on par, 27-25.

The last two Blue Raider golfers contributing to the team score were Zofia Wojcik (T-23rd; 84-84-87) and Lauren Holeman (29th; 85-89-91).

Paige Gray (25th; 83-86-88) and Kendall Hacker (39th; 102-105-106) competed as individuals.

Lindsey Wilson resumes its spring schedule on March 20-21 in the Blue Raider Invitational at the Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
