JACKSON, Tenn. - The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team kicked off their 2023 season Saturday morning in Jackson, Tennessee against Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Blue Raiders fell to the Eagles 4-0.
The Blue Raiders put up a strong defensive front in the first half, with the Eagles netting two goals in just the last 10 minutes of the half. Gabby Duerson made three saves in goal and the Raiders fended off eight corner kicks from the Eagles.
During the second half, Duerson made five saves, allowing only two goals for Oklahoma Wesleyan early in the half. Lindsey Wilson began gaining momentum as the half progressed, with two shots by Ashiat Naluggwa and one by Alina Siegel, as well as corner kick attempts by Naluggwa and Silvia Marchesi.
The Blue Raiders' next game will be at home on Wednesday evening, hosting Shawnee State (Ohio) at 7 p.m. CT.
