Back-to-Back Shutouts Brings Duerson her Second Weekly Award of the Season

COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Gabby Duerson has been voted the Mid-South Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, league officials announced on Monday.

The senior, of Richmond, Kentucky, collects Player of the Week status for the second time this season and becomes the first goalkeeper in the conference to garner the honor multiple times this year. She was previously recognized on September 4.

Duerson recorded back-to-back shutouts between the posts for the Blue Raiders last week, including a conference-opening 3-0 win at Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and a 2-0 victory against Union (Ky.) on Saturday for the program's 500th win all-time.

In Henderson, Duerson tallied four saves, then picked up another three at home versus the Bulldogs. She now actively ranks second in the Mid-South with 62 total saves.

Gabby and her Blue Raider teammates are back at Walter S. Reuling Stadium-Ray Wells Field on Wednesday afternoon to host Bethel (Tenn.) at 4 p.m. CST.
