COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer fell to No. 13 Cumberland (Tenn.) 2-0 on Wednesday at Walter S. Reuling Stadium/Ray Wells Field.
The Blue Raiders (3-9, 1-3 MSC) were limited to just two shots and did not register a shot on goal. Cumberland (12-0-2, 3-0-1 MSC) recorded 17 shots and had seven on goal. Ashiat Naluggwa and Sharon Nadunga each had a shot. Gabby Duerson recorded five saves.
Cumberland got on the board first in the 20th minute. Mari Sagstad with a couple of Blue Raider defenders near her was able beat the defenders for the goal. Cumberland added to its lead in the 27th minute on goal from outside the box. The Blue Raiders were unable to register a shot in the first 45 minutes while the Phoenix had 11 with five shots on goal.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half. The Blue Raiders were able to get their first shot in the 64th minute. Cumberland recorded six shots in the final 45 minutes with two coming on goal.
Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Sunday when they travel to Lawrenceville, Georgia to take on (RV) Georgia Gwinnett at 6 p.m. CT.
