Half Dozen Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Tabbed CSC Academic All-District
COLUMBIA, Ky. – On Tuesday afternoon, College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced that six members of the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team had earned Academic All-District honors.
The 2023 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
This year, Shelby Bell, Lindsey Cox, Silvia Marchesi, Maia Sapp, Alina Siegel, and Jada Yann were each chosen to represent the Blue Raiders for their outstanding contributions.
Marchesi, a senior, is the only repeat name from last season's Academic All-District team. The other five women all earn their first career nod.
Lindsey Wilson closed with the most honorees from one school in the Mid-South Conference. Cumberlands (Ky.) followed close behind with five, while Cumberland (Tenn.) was the only other conference school with one selection.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced December 20.
