Women’s Swimming Finishes Runner-Up at Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team posted a runner-up finish at the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy on Saturday.

The Blue Raiders tallied 993.50 points finishing behind Indiana Wesleyan who had 1,422.50 points in first. Aquinas finished third with 538.50 points, Campbellsville was fourth with 276 points, WVU Tech and Bethel (Tenn.) round out the team standings with 69.50 and 60 points, respectively.

The quartet of Maaike Broersma, Sara Motyl, Natascha Evreinoff and Natalie Gorska kicked off the second day with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay finishing in 1:50.10. Lindsey Wilson had two other relay teams that finished sixth and seventh.

Jordyn Minifie finished fourth in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:56.38 earning a provision standard while Avery Herring finished sixth touching the wall in 5:06.15. Broersma finished runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly touching the wall in 59.47 earning a provisional standard. Motyl and Evrenioff placed fifth and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly.

Alejandra Martinez placed third in the 200-yard freestyle finishing in 2:05.53 while Hannah Woyscheszik placed seventh in 2:07.17. Motyl earned a provisional standard in the 100-yard breaststroke. She touched the wall in 1:10.51 finishing runner-up.

Broersma won the 100-yard backstroke earning a provisional standard with a time of 57.75. Gorska also earned a provisional standard placing third with a time of 1:00.70.

Martinez, Herring, Gorska and Broersma posted a runner-up finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:19.63. Julia Secanell, Jaye Farthing, Azaliia Gabdrakipova and Evreinoff finished fourth.

Martinez finished seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:04.52. Broersma earned another provisional standard in the 200-yard backstroke. She finished first touching the wall in 2:07.53.

Gorska finished first in the 100-yard freestyle finishing in 56.04. The Blue Raiders finished third and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke. Minifie placed third with a time of 2:35.41 while Motyl finished fourth in 2:37.34. Karolina Bidnik finished sixth in the 200-yard butterfly.

Lindsey Wilson closed out the event with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Evreinoff, Martinez, Gorska and Broersma won the event with a time of 3:43.71

The Blue Raiders are back in action on October 7 when they travel to Portsmouth, Ohio to face Shawnee State.
