Women’s Track and Field Compete at Commonwealth College Opener

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team competed at the Commonwealth College Opener this weekend in Louisville, Ky.
The women had nine top ten finishes throughout the day, with the strongest performances in the 500m and the 1000m. Freshman Alejandra Recarey finished in third in the 500m with a time of 1:25.90. In the 1000m, freshman Clayra Darnell came in sixth with a time of 3:12.71, followed by Olivia Rudder, Alexandra Solis, and Macey Wilson in seventh, ninth, and tenth, respectively.
In the long jump, sophomore Nikki Ravelli finished in ninth, with a score of 5.45m. In shot put, freshman Reagan Cheatham reached 11.06m, earning her a ninth place finish, and freshman Destiny Barnes placed seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 10.62m. In the 60m quarter final preliminaries, Ophiellia Bernard placed in sixth, with a qualifying time of 7.90.
The Blue Raiders will compete next at Centre Indoor Showcase in Danville, Ky. on January 20th.
